Home on the Range
Well, since we are home for a while now, I have been able to experience some of the local "Res" life...there is not much believe me, but having been away so much since Amya was born, it has been kind of fun to be home and a part of the community!!!! What a busy life we lead! It was Indian Tacos at the Senior Center this week and believe me they are oh so yummy! It is basically an open faced Taco on Indian Fry Bread. Last night we were invited to play Bunco at the Senior Center and that was fun. On Saturday I have been invited to a baby shower at the Senior Center. Did you notice most events happen at the Senior Center?! It is either there or at the Community Center! What do you want from a town that has one school, two churches, a Post Office and a Library and oh, the local store!! Tomorrow we are going to Grand Coulee Dam (otherwise known on the Res as "the Dam"). Then the big city Omak....well, now, there is a Home Depot there, a Wal-Mart and oh now, recently, a STARBUCKS! Can't wait for my latte tomorrow. Omak is about 20 miles closer than Spokane and is sufficient sometimes....I have started gardening and cleaning out my winter beds. Spring is in the air with summer around the corner and being home this time of year makes me happy. Added to all this activity, I have been working at school quite a bit, filling in mostly for the secretary, which is of course, in my comfort zone!!
