May Northrup Canyon Hike with Caudell Cast and Crew

OK, so the second time we hiked Northrup Canyon, I made it all the way to the top of the "Old Wagon Road" Believe me, this was not a typical easy trail, it is, after all, a wagon road and was nothing but rough terrain and rocks...pity the people in a covered wagon. With much coaxing, there I was and believe me, I was very happy to get to the top, as the views from up there, were more than amazing. It was a very fun day with Debbie, and joining this time was Justus and his girlfriend Julie and my hubby, Rock.

Glad we are down now but what a long road to the car

Coming down was another story, we never found a trail. Ready or not, here I come!

Yes, officially now you can call me a "tree hugger!" They sure helped

Justin admiring the view

Turns out, Julie is afraid of heights too, but never voiced it as much as me..

Oh yes, we were way up there...

Loving the wildflowers

Ginger, the trooper dog

Debbie, the culprit, determined to get to the top the second time around

No problem for hubby Rock

OK, so this is a pretty good idea of the "trail" we were on all the way to the top

I Guess April and May Showers bring May Flowers

This has been our coldest, wettest, and longest Spring since we have lived here. I officially turned off our heat on May 30...unheard of, but the garden has loved it....

My "shed bed" received some TLC this year, finally, and I dug up the Day Lilies and revamped it.....

Progress on the seed experiment this year

My re-vamped back bed, finally....it craved some of my TLC!

My favorite Columbine "Crimson Star"

My revamped "shed" bed...plants from Sue and Dionne

My Lilacs were so beautiful this year and so very fragrant

The Oh So Chilly Month of May....wait, thought it was meant to be "the Merry...., wait, Snowy!

OK, so I have heard of the very unusual "Spring" snow in April, but don't "poosh" it and bring us snow in May...it was so cold last night (30's) on May 4, it didn't surprise me when I was woken to bright sunlight and loud noises! Turns out it snowed after we went to bed, and was so sunny and warmer by morning on May 5, that chunks of snow were falling off the roof! Now, I am going to garden....global warming I tell you!

Hope the fruit trees in the orchard are not ruined!!

I always love my daffodils and tulips in the Springtime

Violas everywhere

First weekend of May took Rock and I to see Mr. Bill at his beautiful home on Lake Pend Oreille. The weather was somewhat chilly and rainy, however, it was perfect to initiate Bill's new BIG screen home theater (projector). We watched Avatar, 2010/12 on the new big screen. We ate good food, drank good wine and just relaxed. It was a nice pre-Mother's Day getaway.
