Grandpa and Grandma Visit to Irvins July 15 to July 19

More July Garden and Garlic Harvest

Are we there yet? With still two full cherry trees to go on July 22, the garlic was clearly in need of harvesting. Rock is disappointed at the small bulbs this year, but oh well, he will try something different next year, like fertilizing more. Some of my flowers look okay but mostly with the heatwave and temperatures in the 100's, it is just a matter of watering wilty flowers!

The busy month of July

The busy month of July is upon us....it started off with a bang! No, we didn't have any fireworks this year for the 4th (we save those for New Year's Eve), but a visit from my cousins from Calgary was a "bang" for me. We really all had a good time. Come again Laurance and Andy. I then made a quick visit to Renton for a dental appointment and an Irvin fix. Once home again, it has been nothing but what to do with three cherry trees full. Rock has been a picking fool and I have made fruit leather for Amya, pie topping and am getting ready to make jam with Dionne on our next visit to Renton, this week, for business and fun with the Irvins. Rock gets to come this time. I have also tried to sell cherries down at the Keller ferry but only sold 9 pounds at $3 a pound! Rock got over 25 gallons off our one Bing tree. Let's see what the two Lapin trees will yield.

We had the most amazing lightning on the 11th. The sky put on quite a show for us and it rained overnight and most of the next day. I never thought I would love rain so much, but we need it in this dry place.
