On Our Way Home

Well, we had to go home after a wonderful weekend of "first" birthday parties. These, I hope, are the last of the snow pictures. On the way down into the valley we do have the most beautiful views, which change with all seasons. The miles and miles of wheat fields change with the seasons as well, and in the winter I call them our "white fields!" You know, we do live in wheat country.

Going down into our Valley!

Amya said she would walk soon!

Well, I am back, this time reporting from "sunny" Colorado. 60 degrees today and only about one inch of snow yesterday because we have it all in Keller and Spokane! Anyway, Susan is making progress with her new knee and I am just happy to be here to help in any way I can. Back to Amya. Dionne called this morning to tell me that Amya took her first two steps. It's official. She told Grandma on her birthday that she would be walking soon. Dionne, Brian and Amya are at the Irvin cabin on Puget Sound with Grandpa Cliff and Grandma Sue this weekend, so they got to see this first. Good job Amya. I am going to post a few more birthday pictures as I can't post her first steps!

I like walking outside and will walk soon Grandma

Amya's Birthday Weekend

Well well. What can I say, our "Fairy Princess" is now 1 year and 2 days old. She is just the cutest grandchild on the planet. We had a very fun visit with the kids. Valentine's Day was spent at the Tomlinson's house celebrating Mason's first birthday and Sunday we celebrated Amya's first birthday. Rock and I enjoyed the opportunity to see everyone, friends and family. Dionne put on a wonderful party and did everything herself. Rock decorated the house with Dionne supervising! We watched Amya and ran errands for Dionne while she baked Amya's own special cake, decorated the house, which looked wonderful, and was and is the best Mommy I know. She made her own party bags for the kids and Rice Crispy Treats shaped like stars, which she attached to ribbon wrapped skewers so they were like Fairy wands. In case you are wondering, the theme was "The Fairy Princess!" She also bought fairy wings, which the little kids wore for a while. It was an affair to remember. Rock and I travelled home on Monday, returning to the White. Oh well, it was good to see color and I envy Dionne and Brian planting over 40 Primroses.....my gardening passion can't start until at least the end of March. The price I pay for peace. Happy birthday Amya my baby girl.

I didn't know what to do with my special cake!
I guess my first taste of sugar wasn't so bad after all!

My Grandma and I love my Tinkerbelle cake Mommy

Wish you were here Aunty Danielle

My Mommy is a good decorator and look at my special cake!

Yey, I am standing all by myself and will walk soon

Thank you for the best party Mommy and Daddy

Shopping Mall in Creston

Frosted Trees and "Frosting Lane"

Ssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoppping.............

Things are hopping at the Creston Mall!
Yikes, I guess it is just as well we live in BFE, or else I would be so tempted to go to THIS shopping mall! Creston is a very small town about 40 miles SE of where we live and just a hop skip over the ferry. We have to go through a slew of these little towns on our way to Spokane.....voila. I think I will continue driving till I get to Spokane, where I have a choice of two shopping malls. Limited choices, but they are really malls! What else to do in February with ice everywhere, just drive, drive, drive. Even if it is 90 miles to Spokane to see a movie. Oh well, it is MY "March Madness" after all and I had to see as many movies as I could before my great Oscar night, which for me, will be in Colorado this month, with Susan.

February 2009

Oh, I guess Amya and Mason needed a diaper change at the same time! How cute are they? I guess there is nothing like getting caught with your pants down!

I am showing off a couple of pictures of my great niece Dorielle Sidney born in Israel. She is the first born daughter of my nephew Craig. The proud Grandpa is my brother Leon, whom some of you may have met at Dionne's wedding in 2006.

Hmmm, we will be home again most of this month. We had a Superbowl Party, spent a day or two in Spokane, taking in movies as well as shopping and seeing dentists. I will be off to Colorado soon but before that my big excitement is Amya's first year birthday party scheduled for February 15. Here we come. Be back soon, later, before the end of this month....

This is how we have to cross the river on a plank with a motor on the end!!

Yummy superbowl spread

Go Arizona

Cheers!!!!
