Cheers to Sixty Years

Well, Susan and Larry came and went (see below) and came back for the wonderful bash below! During their week in Canada, Rock and I continued to complete the finishing touches for the big bash. Finally Wednesday arrived. I went to Spokane to do the remainder of the shopping. I unpacked and put stuff away while Rock went to the airport to pick up Danielle. It was really late when they got home but I waited up long enough just to say hello and fall in to bed. Next day the Irvins arrived and Bill and Nick. We had a great evening before the mayhem to come. Next day we had tons of help hanging signs, blowing up and hanging balloons and waiting for the guest of honor. By evening everyone had arrived and the party began. Everyone had a wonderful time. Fun at the river, horseshoes, campfires at night, games and dancing around the campfires, and yoga classes. The food was wonderful. Danielle completely took over and served everyone and also was a wonderful bartender. By Sunday it was down to the DeWitts and Moores so we all headed to Republic for fun times at Madonna's Bar and Grill. Sunday night Alex put on a slide show of old pictures and current ones. We all fell in to bed. Monday morning it was goodbyes and off everyone went. I stayed home to take it all in!! I am sure Susan had a most memorable birthday.

Cheers to Sixty Years Heysus! Well.....Susan and Larry arrived in Spokane on the 5th (I think I already said that earlier!) We met them at the airport and Larry and Rock took off in our car to shop at Home Depot and Susan and I took off in their rental car to help the economy by shopping at Costco!! Home Depot, yes, there should be light in the Flophouse and Saloon by the time the party rolls around. All four of us had to stop on our way home to have a Billy Burger. Can't miss the famous Billy Burgers in Wilbur. Larry requested this so there must be something good about them. Saturday we all got to work, Larry beginning the process of wiring the barn so we could get rid of Rock's idea of electricity...."running extension cords!" Susan and I did some food prep for the party, organized the greenhouse, which will be the most popular place I am sure, the bar! We all managed to get some R&R in and just enjoyed each other as the mayhem begins Friday as all the guests start filtering in throughout the day. Chad and Danielle arrive Wednesday and the Irvins on Thursday so there will be some "fewer people" time then. The rest of this week will continue to be party prep. Now that you have seen all the pictures above, you will know the preparation was well worth it!

Where's the map?

This is a big fish Brian caught
Yummy it was

Larry brings tears to Rock's eyes with his 300 year old spurs purchased in Bolivia
Tess won't have to be on the lookout anymore for "spurs". Thanks Larry my friend.

Outlets, plugs..and the Lord said "let there be light!"

June

June is here.....my next favorite month when the "bloom" really starts and my beautiful Irises start to pop!! By mid-July and August for sure, it is overgrown everywhere and starts to fade, so my garden is tired by then as I am of WATERING. So good to be home this June. We are in the throws of preparing for the big 60th for Susan, although we are now down to cleaning the inside and doing last minute details. Susan and Larry arrive tomorrow (Friday 5th), then they leave for Canada on Sunday and return on the 12th in time for the big bash.

Ending the Merry Month of May

My prettiest Iris of the year

Well, like I have previously said, May is my merry month. This year has been especially wonderful as we have had a perfect excuse to do some landscaping updates, plant many flowers and get some outdoor projects accomplished as we are hosting my best friend Susan's 60th (cheers to sixty years my friend) in a couple of weeks. We are expecting anywhere from 20 to 30 people for a big camp out and outdoor fun under the Keller sun.....can't wait. First time in over 17 years that all the Moore kids and DeWitt girls can be together and catch up on the missing years. We will miss Katie though. In case we didn't have enough going on, our 13 year old TV quit working so in the midst of all the craziness and projects, we had to buy a new TV. We really are on the cutting edge of technology now out here in Boonyville with our new HDTV LCD, and a new Blue Ray DVD player. Something new to learn, but I guess it is all of this that keeps us young at heart.. It is taking quite a bit of getting used to as we feel as if we need to scan this 42 inch screen, however, I am sure we will get used to it.
My favorite new Columbine "Crimson Star".

Get to work Tess
Do you smell the flowers? DO NOT COME ANY CLOSER dear deer!

It took two men to get one of my indoor "trees" out of the house through the greenhouse to repot it......

Yikes it is big!

James and Rock getting to "Rock" work!

Blue skies under the Keller Sun

What a huge improvement (glad to see the end of the "keep the weeds down black plastic!"
It worked though

About Me

My photo
Still enjoying my life "under the Keller sun" on our slice of paradise, traveling around to see friends and family and making many trips to see our most amazing grandchild and now MOSTLY, being a Grandma, getting as much of our Amya as we possibly can and LOVING grandparenthood.
